Spicy Sitaw and Pork with Walnuts Stir-fry (Long beans with Pork)

April 10, 2014

I wanted to make use of our sitaw (string beans) with another recipe. I wanted something stir-fried and the sitaw, crisp. So, I thought of this:

SPICY SITAW and PORK with WALNUTS STIR-FRY

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kilo ground pork
  • 1 bunch of sitaw (long string beans) cut 1" each.
  • 1 bunch dahon ng sili (chili leaves)
  • 1 bouillon
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp chopped toasted walnuts (or peanuts)

Let's cook!
  • Saute garlic in hot oil. When it's semi-toasted, add the onions.
  • Put the sitaw and saute.

  • Add the ground pork and mix.

  • Season with fish sauce, pepper, salt and chili powder.
  • Continue stirring the ingredients/ Add the bouillon cube. and MSG. Mix well.
  • When the ground pork is cooked, add the chopped peppers

  • Saute some more until the meat is cooked and the sitaw still crisp. Add the dahon ng sili (chili pepper leaves.) Stir in chopped walnuts.
  • Turn off heat. Serve with rice or lettuce leaves; and ice-cold drinks.
