Thinking of another recipe that could compare to the food served in 5-star hotels? How about Baked Buttered Tahong (Mussels) with Cheese? The melted butter and cheese combined with the tahong simply tastes soooo delicious!

BAKED BUTTERED TAHONG with CHEESE

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo tahong
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • chopped parsley
  • salt, pepper

Let's cook!
  • Wash and clean tahong.
  • Boil the tahong in 5 cups water for about 15 minutes or until the shells open.
  • Remove and discard the top shell.
  • Combine and mix in a bowl the melted butter, garlic, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.

  • Spoon on each tahong (mussel). You may put more, according to your preference.
  • Top with grated cheese.

  • Bake in oven toaster for 5 minutes. (You may bake this also in the regular oven for 2 minutes at 150 degrees Centigrade)

  • Transfer to a serving platter. We're done!

It tastes so yummy, you may need to cook at least 2 kilos next time! It's a melt-in-the-mouth dish that would make you crave, just thinking about it!
